BG holding a gun , fires once attempting to shoot officer? More than justified.

let's see...involved in a groundfighting situation with an armed subject who's already tried (and just barely failed) to shoot you once already?
    Hell yes he was justified.

The father's comment was he didn't care what the video showed, stating that his son didn't have to get shot. That would have more credibility if he explained exactly how that could have occurred, what with his son taking shots at the LEO and continuing his attempt to murder the officer for more than a minute.

Lacking sufficient moral guidance, as appears to be the case, it seems to me the son had but one way to go. Perhaps if the father watches the video of his son's attempt at murder a few more times, he'll get the picture. But then, perhaps not.

Looks like what had to be done was done.

Come on guys, think with your FEELINGS, not your head. Imagine how that father feels.....raising his son to be a man and all......it's the 'and all' I'm having trouble with. Now, it's too late to cry....

Problem is... I am. The trooper was 100% right, OSP says so and the courts said so. This case has been done for a while.

yea his son didn't have to get shot...if he were a better father, his son wouldn't have been drunk driving or shooting at an officer and he wouldn't have been shot.

Hey, that is a good idea. The trooper should sue the father for being a bad parent and raising a son who recklessly endangered his (the trooper's) life.

Wonder how that would go over. Considering the other court cases we have seen, why not?

Not only yes but HELL yes he was totally justified in defending himself against someone who was trying to kill him!
