I think by running away, It just empowered them more for there next victim! Who may not be as fast or armed! I would have drawn, low and ready and called 911. Maybe looking at an armed non-victim may have sobered them up enough to go home instead of looking for someone else to terrorize! In between 2 casinos there would be enough security to hold them for a leo! Preadators don't change! Unless they suddenly realize they may be the prey! JMO they should have been put on someone's radar!

Well not looking for a civil lawsuit even if everything else goes just right. Civil lawsuits scare me...your wanna be killer's relatives sue you. Huh???
I am sure if I'll be in trouble I'll hold on to the last possible second before I even draw.

Anyways I just stepped (big ones almost running) to the right by the wall, creating - gaining back a little distance and walked (almost ran) by them. Keeping an eye on them- never touched my gun. Luckily for me (for them???) they lost interest in me very quick.
When I put like 30 yards between us I saw them they were already screwing with somebody else. Walked around the corner and I never seen them again.

Well what I learned that day. Even tho I am probably never in condition white...trouble can caught you off guard. Thugs prefer the surprise you.
In reading your scenario, "walking quickly by them" didn't seem to be an option. I'm glad it worked out for you, but if they were really intent on harming you, you gave up your one tactical advantage.....time and distance to draw your weapon.

Again, I'm glad it worked out for the best.......

I'm sure some members of this forum would say, Oh well for the next guy! Some of us don't buy into that line of thinking!

I think it comes down to the argument that you carry primarily for self-defense. I include my family in that line of thinking (wife, 3 kids and +1 on the way).

Not everyone in our society is going to have a weapon and while I would be willing to come to the aid of the innocent and weak among us, it is my primary duty to be around for the long-run for my family.

I know each situation is different but IMO it boils down to this; if an action used to defend myself allowed others to live, then they () would just have been blessed that I was around when the SHTF.
The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.'

I'm surprised no one has asked about the legality of carrying in the casino. I'm not familiar with NV law, but are you allowed concealed carry in a casino? That would surprise even a Texas boy like me.

Either strategy that was used to get away from these guys would have been followed up by a call to police. I hope you eventually notified some casino security or the police about these 2 idiots.

instead of getting involved maybe just call the cops and tell them whats going on and see if they will send someone out. that way you wouldnt have to worry about getting hurt and thier scanning for prey would be cut short by the cops

S3ymour: believe me if i had a gun on me it would go like my first option would be to flee if possible second option if fleeing isnt going to work i would draw third and final option if they are too close to draw i would have to fight and hope im the winner lol

Which is why when they threatened me I would have shown them we are all not . Two larger men assumed drunk stating they were going to do me harm in my mind that puts me in fear for my life and gives me a chance to stop or change there way of thinking, I would have yelled stop, and unholstered my weapon(low and ready), as stated the big one was already moving very rapidly toward him. We all know how fast someone can be on you in 20-30-40 feet. If he didn't stop I would stop him. If he did I would call 911 and ask for the casino security as well. I wouldn't risk running and falling ,or being tripped up to get stomped in the head. Never turn your back on a known threat. And these two were already picking out there next victim before he was out of sight. A near death experience(which is what it would have been) depending on him stopping. May make them rethink there actions. Maybe not? I can't run! no really I tore a tendon in my ankle! Not to mention if they catch,or trip you now their close and your tired. JMHO off topic I got another star cool

Between football/rugby, dirt bikes, a work accident and the Marine Corps each knee has been operated on twice, broken pelvis that didn't heal right and full thickness tear of the right rotator cuff with 25% loss of use of my arm. I can't run and I can't fight worth a darn.....BUT I can still shoot, 2 on 1 with verbal threat; if they have not reversed course by the time I clear leather...........

I don't know how fast can a drunken gangbanger run while trying to hold up his pants at the same time, but I bet I could run faster.

The low pants let LEO's know when they are going to start running. They have to hitch them up first, gives a warning they want to take off.
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt
