Massad Ayoob ...
How much worth do you place on what he often has to say/write/demonstrate and/or how much do you take with a grain of salt?
Do you agree with all of his scenarios and the outcomes? Have you ever questioned any of them? Do you agree with his tactics, his choices, his advice?
He is considered the leading "expert witness" in this country when it comes to defense related shootings both for LEOs and Civilians, especially those of us who carry legally and under a permit.

I view him as a traditionalist. He may not be as up to date as the "newer" gurus on the block but he has earned his place firearms history. "In the Gravest Extreme" is dated but a great primer for self defense.

Ayoob is usually pretty close to right on the mark imho. Like all trainers i dont agree with everything he says , but from my experience.. and apparently others ( he is in high demand as an expert witness in shootings.

If I were to ever have to go to court on a shooting.....I would want him to 'expert witness' for me!

I find his books and articles great, but his segments on PDTV sorta hard to watch. I think he tells a great story, but for some reason in person he is just very monotone. I would definately like to have him in my corner if I was involved in a shooting. I think if he would have been involved with those poor border agents the outcome might have been different.

The man definitely knows what hes talking about and I can't think of anyone better to have in court testifying in your behalf. Is he a god and infallible, No. But then again who is?

I don't believe any one person can be right 100% of the time, but I do believe that he has been around enough and does know his stuff.

I took LFI-1, and let me just say Mas in person is a lot better than Mas behaving himself for PDTV.
Nobody is always 100% correct, but what Ayoob really has going for him is he has really thought through everything he teaches, and yet is still willing to learn more about the subject. You may not agree with any one particular thing he says, but I guarantee you that he can explain clearly and articulately why and how he came to his answer.

Is there a reason behind this poll?
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

I think he is far more educated than I am on this subject. Anything I can learn from him gets me into better shape. I do agree that there are others to learn from as well, but you can never learn enough.

His writing style is the clearest of any writer i have read. He knows his stuff too. That earns him status as one of the "gun gods"
