    Smile Bank Robbed

This happened about a month ago. My daughter works for a bank in our home town as an assistant branch manager. She has her ccl and carries a Kahr P9. While at work one day she was in her office and heard someone in the lobby yelling for everyone to get down. When she looked out of her door she saw two men with bandanas and hoodies in the lobby. One of them had a handgun and was pointing it at a teller. My daughter drew her Kahr and crouched behind her desk. The security guard drew his gun and told the BG to drop his. The BG said he would shoot the teller (a young lady) if the guard did not drop his weapon. It became a standoff. The other BG climbed over the counter and cleaned out the drawers. My daughter watched and prepared to fire on the BG with the gun if things got crazy. Luckily they grabbed the money and ran with the guard following them to get a car description but escaped on foot. When they ran out my daughter ran and locked the doors (with her gun in her hand). All ended well (no one hurt). The branch manager was beside the young teller and saw all. She later told daughter she was glad she had her gun. The three different cops that talked to daughter all were happy she had gun. The BGs have not been caught yet. I was very proud that she handled the situation calmly. The has a NO GUNS sign on the doors but the BG must not have seen it.LOL. The bank also has a policy of no guns carried by employees, but her boss and the president of the chain know she carries are cool with it. Proud PawPaw

I'd fire the guard, sounds like your daughter did exactly as she should have. I'm glad she's OK.

Glad no one was hurt. Good thing she is allowed to carry at work. Most banks (as well as other businesses)seem to prefer their employees unarmed .

The guard quit shortly after and went into a different line of work. All the employees were very shaken up but the teller had to take a couple days off.

Yep. No matter what, try real hard not to get into a Mexican standoff. Too many bad ways it could go. Action action action.

Good for her. Sounds as if she kept her head in a tough situation.

Kudos to her boss and to the bank as well.

The way I figure it, the banks money is insured and if a BG takes it oh well.
Not worth getting people killed via shootout. Of course every situation is different.
