    Evil people in this world

I am sickened when I see a video like this. Not an LEO but when the 2nd cop came in he looked over at the guy in the t-shirt and then the t-shirt started doing some goofy kind've dance or something - seems like odd behavior for the circumstances. Then the 2nd cop just walked right by the guy in the t-shirt and didn't keep an eye on him. Seems to me if the cops were responding to a possible robbery, they should have had weapons in hand. After initial shots fired the scumbag went back and kept shooting at the officers. Evil people in this world...

Ex LEO here. The simpliest thing they did not do was control the scene. Never, never, never like the guy in the white shirt get behind you. At a scene like this you have no friends except your bothers and sisters in blue (or brown). Suspect everyone, trust no one.

It actually looks like this may have just been a shoplifting type call. But even then, because things can go bad fast, don't turn you back on any other folks in the immediate area.

Man, things like this just make me sick!

I guess that's why the perps were there still? If it were robbery, I don't believe the perps would be standing around at the scene... there is a video on live leak showing an unarmed "guard" (they call them "lose prevention specialists" now ) confronted a shop lifer that had already left the store... the guy got only lead.

I'm ex-military, not LEO. So... I don't see how the cops made any mistakes. It all happened so quickly that I don't know if there was much they could have done anyways. If it were a military situation everyone would have been considered a BG and searched and splayed out on the ground. But in a civilian scenario like this, I can see how the cops probably just thought it was a shoplifting case or something simple and let their guards down a bit. I hate to say it, but if I were one of the cops in that video, I'd probably be dead too. I will never understand how somebody could be that evil. The shooter is a true monster and should be tortured to death.

I can't believe how much my heart was pounding when I watched this video. As a CCW permit holder the one thing to learn here is how fast things can happen and always have a plan before you get to condition red.

    This is just terrible

It was the same for me. The other thing I noticed was that the BG was very calm as he committed to the attack and was successful in his shots....and they were all one handed. Granted it was very up close, but with just several shots he had both cops down.
