How to survive when ambushed by an unarmed attacker

In the post on "keeping a safe distance, what is reasonable?" I attempted to articulate a few points that I thought were important. Apparently I strayed a bit off topic. Not good.

So that I don't derail that thread. I will post this thread. Which is how to survive when ambushed by an unarmed attacker. I found a few videos that explains my thoughts very well. Here they are.

I particularly appreciate how he's up front and says the system is NOT a panacea. The majority of self-defense instructors out there teaching their own pet systems would shudder at the very idea of admitting that.

but that may not [probably won't] mean anything if they attack you at "bad breath range" and your weapon is not in your hand.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

Fairly unrealistic, naive, and potentially fatal mentality.

Guaranteed absolutely fatal mindset. Not meaning to jump on the band wagon to rat pack you Eagleks but that mindset Will get you killed. Please rethink you position get some professional SD training before someone proves us right. Having a gun does not make you armed being armed does not make you invincible
Abort the Obamanation not the Constitution

Those who would, deny, require permit, license, certification, or authorization for me to bear arms are as vile, dangerous & evil as those who would molest, abuse, assault, rape or murder my family

Hell no... that's a false level of confidence that does no good on the streets. An unarmed man, within contact distance (or someone who moved fast enough to get that close) can be very deadly... people keep assuming they will be able to draw but then real life will have those people fighting of an attacker WHILE trying to retrieve their weapon.

People just get into a realistic street mindset and not assume everything will be as perfect as a stationary target at the range etc, those don't throw blows, gouge your eyes out or make stabs.

    Good stuff,

    Thanks
A real man loves his wife, and places his family as the most important thing in life. Nothing has brought me more peace and content in life than simply being a good husband and father.
