Good situational awareness on your part, glad you two were alright. When doing your research, make sure you look at what places are off limits for carry weapons. Since you're dealing with a college campus, things can get problematic when carrying.

I highly recommend Handgunlaw.us for a good overview of carry laws but, as always, verify the info that applies to your location.

    Good job!

You did what you needed to do to avoid a gunfight, and that should be your goal. Do yourself a favor and read, "In The Gravest Extreme", by Massad Ayoob.

Avoidance should, IMHO be your goal. Your actions were the same one's you should have when carrying a gun. I would act or do nothing different when I am carrying a gun as I would when I'm not carrying a gun.

Take care, stay safe and welcome.

Good move getting out of there. But remember, even if you were carrying a gun, getting out of there would still be the right thing to do!

Yeah even if I would have been carrying I still would have left because 15 to 1 is pushing it somewhat lol

    100% agree on all points.

Today I ran out to the range, I was going to shoot the wife's Walther P22, but I also took my carry gun (Kimber Custom TLE) and dusted off the of SW40VE. The Smith was in a paddle holster, so I just dropped it on my belt to the rear of my Kimber. The P22 was lying in the seat next to me. All together I had 64 rds of readily accessible (loaded in the weapons and in mags) plus about 500+ rds in my rangebag in the passenger floor. Even as heavily armed as I was, I would have handled the situation just as you did. Avoiding the situation at all costs is the best plan of attack you can have. Don't be a hero. Odds are in that situation a shooting would not be legally defensible.......If you survived.

    Good Job
