I am in the midlands and she works at wallyworld. There is no history as this was the first time she and him had worked together. She is waiting to take the CWP class and she has one of my many other handguns but she did not have it in the car as I had taken her car on base to have some work done.

Glad you two are ok. Others have pointed out several things that could have been done better, I have a few others myself. I would not have drawn myself based on your report, but then again I wasn't there.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Glad it worked out for the better, for you two. Good SA for her and cool head for you.

Good job. Like everyone else said, take her out shooting and get her a CCW.

So did the LEOs take posession of YOUR gun for the investigation? When LEOs arrived did they order you to drop your gun and down on the ground as well? Just curious, because I did have to draw in a situation many months ago, and still have scars from the LEOs throwing me to the ground.
I suppose you'll have to appear in court later to file charges on this guy. I hope he's put away for a LOOOOONG time !!!!!

I was ordered to lay the weapon down and step away from it and was ordered back to them and was placed in cuffs until permit was found and they took my weapon until everything was wrapped up. I have already filed a warrant and everything so he has charges pending here as well as the other state.

The State Board does not know about it yet! Don't worry that won't take long I bet. If he has been officially charged the Board should be notified but they may not revoke/suspend his license until the case is resolved. That is generally how it works.

This situation is terrifying, wait.. scratch that.. mortifying to me.
I'm glad you girlfriend is very aware of her surroundings.
My girl lives in a small town with an ridiculously high rape/sexual assault per capita rate and i lose a lot of sleep picturing something like this happening while i'm over 2 hrs away...
Good man. Good choice, both in a girl and your choice of actions.
I applaud you.

Good job. Bet she's glad you have your CCH now, and that she called you.
Yep, if she would have felt comfortable to talk to him because she knew him from work... they may have been doing a search for her body today.
OK ... I gotta ask what gun were you carrying and was there one in the chamber ??? LOL. And... is she ready to go to the range with you now ?
