I did just that and I avoided the area for a year after. I saw the fellow later in a different place and he didn't recognize me at all.

If it was a place I didn't need to visit, I'd avoid it for awhile.

If it was a place I couldn't avoid, I'd vary my routine, my route, and my vehicle if possible. I might arrive from a different way, at different times than normal if possible, and maybe even use a different entrance/exit if I could. And I'd be extra wary while I was there and after I left, checking to see if I was followed.

It's easy to track someone who doesn't vary his routine. It's easy to follow someone home if he isn't paying attention to who is behind him.

Change my pants, change my EDC (current P-3AT) change my routine, check my life insurance.

Hope the BG don't know what I drive.

The BG has been whooped once, you can bet he'll be armed with some kind of weapon and quicker to use it during a second encounter.

Like everyone else said, be even more alert, stay away from the location of the encounter and change up your routines.

I would just go about business as usual. Normal SA is all you need. If you see him again then I would start planning for round two....when I open up this!

It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

I ask myself, "What would Gecko do?"
And then I would duct-tape a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located.

If it's somewhere you have to go...just keep your eyes open. If it's somewhere you don't have to go (gas station, etc.), find a different place to do business for a while.

Thanks - it's good to have overarching principles on which to base one's decision-making.

I am planning and training to be able to beat the tar out of someone rather than kill him (as I am disarmed at work and picking up groceries on the way home), and I thought having an after-action procedure would be wise. I meant well; sorry if I'm out of line.

Actually, it was pretty funny. My dad used to use the 'what ifs drive me nuts' line to stick his head back in the sand - guess I let a button get pushed.

Keep it up... and I need to program that airstrike into my cell phone. Now THAT's something I'll bet Gecko DID do!

I am not going to modify my life for some punks. One of the reasons I carry is I refuse to allow low life scum bags to dictate how I live. That said I would only go there if I have a legit reason to be there.

One of the way to avoid a follow up attack it to assure that you put the fear of God in the assailant. Be sure the bones break before they hit the ground but make sure that your defense is the most painful, horrifying experience they have ever had. Not one they want to ever repeat. Remove all doubt about whether or not they could have won
