Our church has at least a dozen now - and more in the process. (who carry that is)

I remember the shootings that took place in Austin Texas. If it wasn't for the [U]gun shops[/B] and the armed citizens the cops would have been out gunned.

    Michael,

    Ken et al,

I emailed the denominational folks today, both my superior and the Risk Management guy (he is a Marine).

I will see what they say.

I downloaded a ton of materials, some of which was posted in past threads from this forum (thanks for all the info, gang).

I have set up an initial meeting with the following members of the church--an attorney with a CWFL, a mental health and addictions counselor and Scout leader with a CWFL, and a retired LE (FBI, I think. I will check.). That will be a week from Wednesday.

We will begin talking about some sort of ERT (Emergency Response Team), or whatever we end up calling it (X-ERT=Xn Emergency Response Team). There will be much to cover, including liability and training, who might be part of this and how to select and screen. Some of y'all remember that our town's COP has volunteered training (after saying we should never again have a meeting without someone with a gun present).

I know there will be lots to do. I will also have to make some changes in wardrobe to ensure I can carry without being 'spotted.'

    Will keep y'all posted.

The problem has been solved here in Michigan...Churchs and schools are decreed to be "gun free zones".Now, wasn't that easy?

Not the Parking lots, and if you have the permission from your church you can carry there as well... but let's all get on the HB 4348 bandwagon and remove all the CEZ!!

Don't forget that we're trying to make college campus carry legal too: HB1893 and SB1164 need all the Texans we can get writing to state legislators.

I mentioned that to my reps in WV. Will not get it, but hey, I can try.
