    Thumbs up Analysis of Data

I entered the first seven pages of scores into an analysis program and performed a statistical test (ANOVA) that compares the response times by group. My conclusion is that there is not a significant difference between the response times for black vs. white armed or black vs. white unarmed. In other words, race is not the determining factor for how quickly you respond to the visual cue.
White vs. black armed mean = 648.1 ms vs. 637.2 ms, p=.457
White vs. black unarmed mean = 713.4 ms vs. 730.8 ms, p=.269

I also pooled the white/black armed and white/black unarmed. In this case there is a significant difference in the response times between armed and unarmed. Mean armed = 642.6 ms and unarmed = 722.1 ms, p=.000.

My guess is that the decision about whether the person is a threat is made very quickly and acted upon if the threat is real, but that the reaction to non-threat pictures is slower because the need to respond quickly is not there.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

+1 I didn't even look at the race of the subjects... It was all I could do, just to identify a weapon or something else.

    My two Lincolns..

I find it funny that they will use the data for racial profiling considering they did not gather any demographic info on the people using the test.

Also did anyone else notice that you loose more points (-40) for "Holstering" on a BG than you did for shooting (-20) a GG? To me a competitive person playing a game would error on the side of higher points and tend to shoot more often.
