I'd get her out of the car...she wasn't fighting the wife, and obviously wanted a fight, so to get out would remove her from the wife, and the car, then I would wrassle her into sumission and have the wife call the police while I restrained her.

My approach is a bit different. I would not have stopped in the first place...especially for the 'goofy' looking woman in that pic.
If, however, I had been stuck in traffic and that woman climbed down into my car and attacked my wife, trying to scratch out her eyes and biting her......it's all over for that potentially lethal 'disease carrying' dirtbag. She could easily be injecting my wife with something that is deadly...thus, I would be injecting something into her brain that is equally deadly, but a tad quicker.
Sorry folks, this older couple will NOT put with this kind of abuse...you touch me or my family, I WILL touch you.

I'd definitely do whatever it takes to keep her from injuring my girlfriend. Scratching in the eyes? You could be blind the rest of your life. That certainly counts as "death or serious injury" in my book. I wouldn't shoot her, but you can be sure I'd lay into her.
If this was a grown male, I'd probably shoot him. A petite woman you can handle - some grown men, even if they're skinny wimps, can get into some drugs and they're throwing you around.

Though some responses have been humorous, the facts are several folks here risk dying at the hands of an attack such as this. 120 lb woman hyped up on anything will tear a 6'+ man up faster than a man of equal size will.
When I started in law enforcement a seasoned sgt. advised me to never sell a woman short no matter how small this is. He was right. I 've been in situations where it took several 6'+ men to subdue one "little" woman.
If you think the fight is going to be oneside you will learn quickly that you are on the wrong side.

Only those that have never tried to restrain a "little woman" would say they would be able to handle her.
That's what I was hinting at in my first post on this matter, post #38. I will use what force is necessary and legally justifiable in a situation. The sex of the offender plays no role in my decision making. I don't care if it's a man or a woman. I am only concerned with the fact that it is indeed a violent criminal actor.

I agree with most of this Biker but IMO most folks here aren't thinking of restraining. I would be trying to smash, mash and destroy her by any means available. There is a big difference in tactics (I think)when you as an LEO are trying to restrain. You hold back from using 100%, while I as just a person in the furball would be holding nothing back.For example I would have no problem sinking both of my thumbs into her eyes up to the second knuckle. An LEO would have a hard time explaining that behavior while I as a private citizen could justifiably claim self defense.
I do agree though that in most cases it's not the size of the dog in the fight but rather the size of the fight in the dog. Fighting an eye gouging, biting, howling fiend, no matter what size, would not be fun.
A 9mm might expand but a .45 will never shrink enough to fit 17 in the magazine.
