If you're going to carry one weapon, might as well carry two, because as the saying goes, "Two is one, and one is none."

Even liberal little Connecticut doesn't discriminate against carrying (concealed) in bars and restaurants serving alcohol...

In an interesting parallel, some time back I was flying jumpseat on commercial aircraft in Europe, diagnosing an engine vibration situation. On an overnight layover away from home base, I bought several rounds of drinks for the pilots in the bar. At one point, I asked what their rules were about alcohol consumption and flying. The pilot started to reply "no alcohol within 15..." and of course I expected to hear "...hours of flying", but instead he completed his sentence with "...meters of the aircraft" and a big smile. I pressed further, and the answer was that there was no specific prohibition of alcohol consumption within any set time of flying. Here's the takeaway: they expect their licensed pilots to act responsibly. Period.

Wish we could adopt such simple guidelines here, and I'm not talking about just flying. You can't force responsibility with legislation.

458 behind. Are they stacking the vote in Tenn ?

The question, is worded with a very anti- approach. "Should guns be allowed where alcohol is served ". That's kind of opened ended. Vs .... "should law-abiding citizens with a CC permit be allowed to carry their guns in restaurants where alcohol is also served ? ".

Post that poll on ARFCOM and you'll double the yes votes. Just title the thread 'firemission' and it will be done.

I voted yes (it's 48% FOR now), but the poll question is too vague.

In FL, bars & taverns are no-carry, but restuarants that serve alcohol are okay as long as you don't sit at the place reserved primarily for serving alcohol (the bar). The 51% percent rule is ridiculous, as to who [outside of TX (I know it's posted there)] knows what percent of a business's income is from alcohol?
