I am a new member of the forum and new to CC (but not firearms). I am thinking about ordering two holsters from Don Hume: An IWB H715-M and an OWB H721. As stated above, I inted to concealed carry my Ruger P95 9mm in these. Any opinions? Thanks in advance.
Don't have the IWB one but i have the 721OT (OT just means no thumb break) and it works fine for me. I don't regularly carry my P95 as I prefer my security six but the holster works well for me when I use the P95 for IPSC. The holsters start a little tight but break in is easy just practice drawing and it'll loosen up enough that you're not trying to take your pants with you when you draw. I like the 721OT and I have 4 of them. Reasonable price with a good turn around time even if its not in stock. I think it would be hard to find much better for the price. People seem to think that the P series is too large to carry yet some carry full size glocks and HKs without any problems. Good belt, a larger shirt and you're good to go.
Thanks! I've been carrying in an Uncle Mike's IWB thus far with no concealment issues so long as I position the gun correctly.
I had a 715 for a Ruger P93 when I was first checking IWB out. Not the best option, but it is workable. I personally prefer holsters with more mass to them, but YMMV.
The retention was good without the thumb break?
all my guns stay in the holster w/o the thumb breaks. I think 3 of them I can hold upside down and give it a bit of a shake w/o the guns coming out might be all 4 don't remember.
+1 on the 721OT - I carry my full size 1911 in one - even in FL in summer - untucked t-shirt conceals 1911 just fine (I avoid solid lite colors just to be sure). Carried IWB for a few years but much prefer OWB in Don Hume - retention is consistant. :hand10:
