I completely agree that you don't have to have a zippy round to do the job. But then again, if you are using reloads, then you are putting ALL of your faith in the person who reloads for you (i.e, whether you live or die if you get into a bad situation).

Using a major and respected ammo corporation that has high-tech equipment and has been doing high-end defensive (new) ammo manufacturing for decades has a lot more inherent guarantee that your gun will go BANG when you need it to.

IMHO, I think I'll take the pain of recoil rather than trust somewhat iffy reloads...
