    Neighbors & Concealed Carry

A few months ago, I was asked by my next door neighbors to put them on the list for the Sheriff's Office Concealed Carry class. It was after they found out my wife had just come back from the range after her class and was about to join the ranks. We chatted with the neighbors about how the process works. The neighbor on the other side of us already has his.

Last Monday, the neighbor was outside and called out to me as I was coming home. He and the wife got their notification and were going to the class. Today (Sat. 3/20) we were in the yard working and they returned from the range. Showed us their targets and for those I never thought would shoot at all, they did really well. Now they just have to submit the applications be approved and be one of "us." How cool is that!

Sorry for the long post, I'm just excited for them.

Sounds like your neighborhood is going to be a little safer...

Most of the adults in our church have their CHLs and many carry all the time.

It seems one member tells another and the number grows.

Great deal!!! You've helped your neighbors and your neighborhood become safer. You should be very proud.

I had a great conversation with a friend this evening that has his CCP and some CCWs, but doesn't have the depth of knowledge in carrying (i.e. not carrying chambered, not knowing about IWB holsters, etc.). We chatted and talked about a lot of the things we discuss here, I showed him my IWB set-up, we also discussed safeties om various weapons, SA, de-escalation, OC spray. I referred him to this site and he seemed very anxious to get home and do some research. A lot of people are interested and want to learn more, they just need some encouragement and resources. I've found that both of those are plentiful here.

My next door neighbor has an arsenal which makes my 15 or so handguns looks like child's play.

Most everyone in my neighborhood believes in the 2nd Amendment and self defense....

    That is great.

I'm not sure about all my neighbors, 3 of them are elderly and I know they are not armed, the one across the alley from my back yard is armed, she has a 357 and she'll use it in the name of the Good Lord LOL, I like her, she's in her mid 60s an fiesty as all get out.

Everyone else I'm not sure of. I might be the best armed one on my block.

Your lucky to have such open minded neighbors. Mine will always see my family loading up to go shooting, and will come over joking about how if there is an emergency, they are coming over to our house. I try to preach about at least purchasing something for self defense, but if falls on deaf ears. None of them even keep a defensive weapon in their homes. But hey, what can you do, some people just don't understand.

Pass of my contacts to your neighbors.

Sounds like you'll have a pretty safe neighborhood.

Congrats for your neighbors becoming "enlightened."
