Disagree all you want, legal precedents have defined "conspicuous" in the context of Ohio CCW law.

You are technically correct however the owner of the store did not post in a conspicuous location therefore the TC that was carrying was not violating the law.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

    (J) A term or clause is “conspicuous” when it is so written that a reasonable person against whom it is to operate ought to have noticed it. A printed heading in capitals (as: NONNEGOTIABLE BILL OF LADING) is “conspicuous.” Language in the body of a form is “conspicuous” if it is in larger or other contrasting type or color. In a telegram, any stated term is “conspicuous.” Whether a term or clause is “conspicuous” is for decision by the court.
a sign that says "no firearms" posted on a bulletin board in the back of a store was not in a conspicuous spot and does not mean he broke the law.

While what you are saying makes perfect sense from a logical perspective, if there are legal precedents in place that have defined "conspicuous" as it specifically relates to this law, then you have to throw logic out the window.

I'm not in OH, but if it is like most places, court decisions, especially as they related to "gun laws" rarely have to be logical.

If you didnt see it before or on entering, it is not in a conspicuous location. that is my own legal definition which may or may not land you directly in jail...lol. Just trying to apply common sense to the situation.
