    Good question.

Some women will be freaked out by concealed carry.

However, the real concern is... why do you care?

Be confident and secure about who you are and your personal preferences. If it comes up, don't be insecure about it and try to "prove yourself." Don't even ask her what she thinks about it, you shouldn't care. She doesn't like it? Her loss, move on to the next topic.

Just stick to your true self (guns, video-games, sports, leather fetish, whatever).

Carry a P3AT or something similar. Gives you an option of being very concealed and being somewhat protected.

    Fortune favors the bold.

Freedom doesn't mean safe, it means free.

The thing about "defense" is that it has practically nothing to do with guns. (As passed on by CCW9MM)

if you bump them (or the other way around) on accident.

There is an exception though - if you dress really really nice, they'll probably think it's a cellphone at first - a lot of white collar folks I've seen have cellphones clipped to their waist.

There's also dancing - their hands could possibly land on your gun but they're too focused on you (or surviving the dance) to even care...

Not just white collar people have their phone on their waist. A lot of people of all walks in life carry their phone there. I've done it for years and have always had what are technically blue collar jobs.

Now I'm a lot older than you but not quite old enough to be your grandfather. You have gotten a lot of good advice here and I agree you should carry all times it is legal. I use a Smart Carry holster for deep concealment.

A personal story may add a little humor to the topic.

I find that a lot of people including women are oblivious. A few years ago I was dating a nice lady for a few months when she invited me into her apartment at the end of the date. It seems she had decided to take it to the next level. We soon moved from her living room couch to the bedroom. She aparently was caught up in the moment and didn't realize I was carrying until she saw my S&W in the mutual pile of clothes on the floor in the morning.

She was the type that is afraid of guns but she got over the initial surprise and had no problem. I told her that I always carry when legal and had been doing so for years. We continued to date for another eight or nine months but fell apart when she was in toooo big a hurry to get married. By the way her fear of guns was pretty bad as I never was able to make one of those dates a trip to the range.

On a happy note the lady I'm dating now is on the way to my house this morning for lunch and then we are going to the range. I brought the subject of guns up with her early on (we've only been going out for a month) and she wanted to learn because a recent ex looked like he could be turning into a stalker. Thankfully she hasn't heard from him lately.

Glock "Perfection" is not just a slogan; it is truth in advertising.

I would tell before the first date. I am me,if people do not like me for who I am and what I believe, that will be fine. Life is too short to 'make 'people like you by pretending to be,or pretending to believe something you do not.

I would if I dated. Haven't been on a date in about 8 or 9 years.

Every time my wife and I go on a date, we both carry.
