Ok I have a non-resident FL permit...since I live in Illinois and have plans to travel to Michigan to visit friends. It looks to me that MI does not honor non-residents with a FL permit. Can someone let me know if this is true and if so what permit can I get that will take less than 30 days?

Michigan is a traditional open carry state. Open carry is more common in rural areas. You may NOT open carry in a car without a permit. However, Michigan recognizes the resident permits of all 50 states.

MI accepts ALL resident permits, but NO NON resident permits.
Unfortunatly as a IL resident you can't CC in MI.
MI is an OC state but make sure you know ALL the laws/rules prior to doing so.

Sorry i miss that you live in ILL. so ^^^ would be correct..
ILL. needs to wake up... And read the 2ND Amendment ..CCW/CPL holders for the most part aren't gun nuts just prepared for what may happen..
