SC car & general CC rules

Can someone list off the basic rules for CC in SC? I have run my trip from MI to SC through the Pack-N-Go Planner but came up a little short on info for SC.
What are the laws for guns in the car? I'll be on the lookout for signs too...especially since i haven't seen one in person yet. Just wanna make sure i'm clear on CC'ing in that state.
    Thanks!!

Without a permit, you can carry a loaded gun in your glove compartment, console or other latched compartment. Do not put it under the driver's seat. With a permit, you can carry it on your person in addition to the above places. Even with a permit do not store your gun under the driver's seat. You must notify an officer, if that officer asks you for indentification.

To clarify: the compartment has to be a "part of the car", such as a console, glove compartment, etc., and it does NOT have to be lockable.
