WY Now Honors MN, MO, NE & VA

In the past week or so the Governor of Wyoming signed a new Reciprocity law for Wyoming and the law went into effect immediately. I have contacted the WY AG's Office and they confirmed. Wyoming will now Honor the additional states of Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Virginia. These 4 states already honored a WY permit/license.

Wyoming's new Reciprocity Law states that WY will honor any state that honors theirs. They have not updated their official website as of this evening but it should be posted in the next week. Many states are slow at posting updates of this nature. I look for WY to add a additional states in the near future.

Handgunlaw.us will be updated in the next 24 to 48 hours to reflect this change in what states Wyoming Honors.

Wish we would get it with your home state of West Virginia. Aggravating to not be able to conceal carry when I go back to Ohio to visit and can't carry across the river.

Jeff F, Get a Utah, Florida or Virginia Non resident permit and you are legal in both Ohio and West Virginia. WV dropped their law about Resident permits only.

I suppose all I really need is a PA license to get WVA. Really have been trying to only have one license. My Wyoming license covers 99% of what I need. As it stands if or when Iowa is finalized they should accept Wy. Then we will be able to leave here and drive to Ohio and the only place we can't carry is the socialist state of Ill Noise. Of course that's a short piece and we never stop anywhere in that state. The only reason I would like WVA is that my son lives just outside of Wheeling and we usually drive over to Cabelas when we're in the area.

So, whom do we contact in our own home states (Kansas for me) to honor Wyoming's reciprocity law? I'm traveling there in July & would like to not have to unload & lock up when I cross the state line.

Since Wyoming will now honor anyone who will honor their permit/license you would have to contact the Kansas AG and ask them to look at Wyoming Law. For Kansas to honor a Wyoming permit/license they would have to meet the requirements as set forth in KS law. Here is what the Law Says the other state much have to be honored by KS.

In accordance with K.S.A. 75-7c03(c), the standards for licensure in these states have to be equal to or greater than the standards imposed by the State of Kansas.

It would really be nice if all of the States would get together and honor each other's permits so you could travel from one end to the other, of course we'd have to get a couple of States in line with the program. As it stands right now, my Delaware permit is not honored by Maryland, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania, so I can't get out of State without locking it up. Hopefully I'll qualify for the HR218 in May and be good Nationwide.

That is good news as I'm from Missouri. I've been wanting to plan a trip to that area of the country in a few years to visit Jackson Hole and travel through the Dakota's but have been putting it off because of reciprocity with several of the northern states I'd be either visiting or having to travel through to reach my destinations.

Great news! Thanks for the update Slider.
