Politicians LISTEN to their constituents more than you think. It's their measure of success; they can point to the communications received as to why they support legislation. If you've never contacted an elected official before, MAKE THIS the first time (as did I) and it will leave you feeling good! (PS: The opposition listens too; it may not change their vote but it may moderate their tenor).

I did this last night, and I also encourage all in favor to contact her and let her know that you would appreciate her signature on the bill.

Congrats AZ! As I have said many times before, I would love to see all the states pass this type of law.

The older I get, the less my Permit feels like a badge of honor and more like a thorn in my side. I should not need a permit to exercise a RIGHT!

    I'll second that!

I think you still need a permit to carry into a business that sell alcohol for consumption and carry on school property.

And it you must be 21 to carry concealed in a vehicle.

Makes it easier to get the permit..no mandatory 8hr class, no qualification..NRA basic handgun class, LEO course or DD form 214 will get you a permit. might need the permit to carry else where until every other state does the right thing.

doesn't hurt to save the money on a background check when purchasing the firearm also.

SB 1108, the Constitutional Carry bill, was transmitted to Governor
Brewer today, April 12, 2010. SB 1108 eliminates the prohibition and
penalties for law-abiding adults who carry a concealed weapon without a
permit. A letter to the Governor, urging her to sign SB 1108, has been
prepared and is waiting for you at AzCDL's Action Center:

    <http://azcdl.capwiz.com/azcdl/issues/alert/?alertid=14907736>

The Governor has 5 days (not counting Sunday) to make a determination on
the fate of any bill sent to her desk. That means she must decide the
fate of SB 1108 by Saturday, April 17 at Midnight. She can sign it, let
it pass without her signature, or veto it. Any bill she does not veto
will become law 90 days after "Sine Die," the official adjournment of
the Legislature. We encourage you to contact her and request that she
sign this historic legislation, and ask your fellow freedom lovers to do
so as well. You can use the pre-written letter linked to above, or you
can call her office at 602-542-4331 or 1-800-253-0883.
She has typically waited until the fifth day to take action on all bills

I think Governor Brewer has been in Washington D.C. dealing with the F-35 coming to Luke AFB. I am guessing she will sign the bill when she returns to her office.

Not yet. BTW, the phone # to the Governors office is 602-542-4331. If you haven't already, call her office and tell them you want her to sign Senate Bill 1108.

I did it. My first time too.
    Hope it helps.

This is great for we Arizonans, but it is STUPID to still need the permit to carry concealed into a restaurant that serves alcohol when you can CCW everywhere else.
