I'd go with either a IWB or pocket holster.

I'd recommend one of three holster choices...

    IWB strong side FIST, INC.

    OWB strong side FIST, INC.

    Pocket Holster FIST, INC.

I have more that one of each of these for various firearms and they all work very well, the OWB (#12 Basic) holds the gun as tightly against the body as any IWB.

I have an S&W Model 36. I always carry it in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. Works great.

I have an inexpensive Uncle Mike's Sidekick (#3) pocket holster and it works fine. Tried a Kirkpatrick Leather Clip-On but don't like it at all, mainly due to its' collapsing if you draw the gun while it's on your waist. I have a Don Hume H-715 ordered and hope it'll do the trick. Don't want to spend a lot on a holster for the 642 since an M&P 9c is my primary carry.

Crossbreed Supertuck my friend... It's all you ever need to know as far as IWB holsters are concerned!

IMO the 642 belongs in a Mika Pocket Holster or in a Renegade Ankle Holster.

I'll carry something larger as a "primary" thank you.

Look into N82tactical.com for a very comfortable inexpensive IWB holster. It holds a full size very close to your body with a smooth textured natural leather backing.

    +1

I ordered from FIST for my wife's 642 as RetSupt and Attila and was VERY pleased with the quality and turnaround time (about a month). I order the FIST #1 with the adjustable cant. It work well IWB or between the belt and the pants. She also have a DeSantis Nemesis for her purse carry.

Personally, I tried to carry it in my pocket (I'm 6'1" and 220) and don't know how anyone comfortably pocket carries without pants borrowed from MC Hammer.

There have been some great holsters recomended to you, I really like the Mika for pocket carry. Just my 2 cents but if you can afford too I would buy 2 or 3 different styles of holster.

I would look for a pocket holster, and IWB, and if you run or workout alot then a fannypack might be a good choice as well.

    Good Luck!
