Getting your **** stolen is never a laughing matter... When my jeep was stolen I felt violated.. my heart sank it was a pain in the butt and yet another thing I had to deal with. I have mounted safes in my car and conceal them. If they break in I am banking on them either not finding them or not having the tools to break into them. I don't store guns in my car long term either.
You need a bumper sticker that says
"If you can read this, your in my cross hairs."
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

And that's exactly where many go. I used to scuba dive in the Spokane River in (where else) Spokane, WA., and it was common to find firearms of all types on the bottm, particularly beneath bridges. Some had only been there for hours (no rust, little sediment). A call to the Cops went out unless the firearm happened to be a rusted chunk.
