    Abduction Prevention for Sheeple

I just watched an abduction prevention segment on CNN, obviously geared towards sheeple of the female persuasion (sheepettes?). The correspondent was female, with a male "security expert" giving examples.

The first bit of advice to prevent the abductor from taking you away in your own car was to jam the wrong key into the ignition, thus preventing the car from being started. Another suggestion was to throw your keys as far as you can away from the vehicle. No mention of what to do if the attacker doesn't turn and run after this clever bit of deterrance.

It was advised the once the abductor has you in the trunk of the car (hmmm... guess plan "A" of tossing the keys didn't work at this point) that you should kick out the taillight and waive your hand wildly out the opening, someone will see it and phone for help. No mention of what to do if no one sees it, say at night or if the attackers manages to drive to a secluded area before the victim succeeds with kicking out the taillight.

Naturally, no advice was given on HOW TO PREVENT BEING STUFFED IN THE TRUNK IN THE FIRST PLACE!

I mean heaven forbid that one should defend oneself with lethal force. It's must more safe to allow the attacker to stick you in the trunk of a moving vehicle and then pull some McGuyver stunt to escape.

The sad thing is, lots of folks watching this will conclude that the plans presented would be viable under a carjacking/kidnapping situation. I actually felt angry watching this, since if my wife didn't know any better she might conclude the same (she does know better, her CCW should arrive soon).

The most absurd part of the segment was when the "security expert" mentioned how to avoid getting pulled into a van parked next to your car. When the female correspondent asked if it would be better to enter from the passenger side and then climb over the seat to the driver's position (!), he said no -- that you should return to the store or where ever you came from to be safe. Now what are the odds of a van or SUV parked next to your car when you come out of a store? At least 50/50 I would think.

It was one of the most ridiculous things I've seen on TV in a long time.

That's what you get when you have Sheeple training Sheeple. What they should have started off with was "First start by applying for a cc w."
George Washington: "A free people ought to be armed."

    Angry

I can't even comment on that "helpful advice" without becoming instantly unmoderator like.

    That is truly sad.

    Sad commentary.

Looks like he only has advice on what to do after you've become captured, other than to not let it happen in the first place. Other than the "go back to the store" bit. You'd never get home in some towns.

How about: apply for a CCW, take training classes, and learn to not let it happen in the first place.

What really gets me is these "experts" will always get taken seriously by the media. If a defense instructor was to say "Well start by getting handgun training from a reputable source and get a CCW, then practice observant and vigilant behaviour and situational avoidance as well as ongoing firearms training" they'd paint him as an irresponsable and dangerous whack job.

    Frighteningly dumb stuff

Puts me in mind of all the junk spewed out by some PD's regarding ''do what the bad guy says'' etc, and all will be honky dorey.

The last few years of watching these so called "experts" on TV have left me with the impression that they are hired by IQ. The lower the better!

Sheeple being what they are an expert is defined as: ex a has been, and x as an unknown quantity; and spert (squirt) as a drip under pressure. Therefore, we now have an unknown has been drip, leaking "information" under pressure.

Not to worry! Being they won't pay much attention to these broadcast, and if they do, they won't recall the "instructions," as they'll be too busy trying to comprehend that something BAD actually happened to them in the first place.

A young lady was stuffed in a trunk a few years ago. She manage to escape by kicking down the back seat, and jumping out of the car just as it was getting on the highway.

Doubt I ever would have thought of that, even if someone was able to toss my tonnage in a trunk-provided I even fit in the first place...

My closest friend was carjacked in a border city in Texas. The Chico Malo came up to the drive's side door, point a pistol at my friend and demanded that he move to the passenger side of the car. My friend did and as the Criminal Mexicano Estúpido started to enter the vehicle my friend put four center mass with his Taurus 92. The Chico Malo was dead before he hit the pavement.

My friend was an Assistand DA in a West Texas Judical District at the time and he knew the magic words to say to the police and grand jury. All in all he was treated very well. The Minority Community of that border town was outraged that in their opinion he had used la fuerza más grande utilizada que era necesario, since Juan was such a good boy or so his mother and aunts said.

Just once I would like to hear one of them say "Buy A High Quality Handgun...get some good instruction...and Bust A Cap with quick one to his forehead." That way you won't hafta throw your car keys away.

Actually I saw the same report and I think things are getting better.

Years ago the entire story would have been about how you should just go along with the criminal ... give them what they want and you won't be hurt.

But this report the "security expert" said several times "Don't be afraid to fight back."

Granted he's not going to tell you to draw and fire from retention, but its better than the old days of "just shut up and be a good sheeple, but take notes so we can maybe catch the bad guy later".

Now the stupid "Whistle Away Crime" ads I keep seeing on TV annoy the crap out of me http://www.whistleawaycrime.org/

I think the report of Kate Petit's response in Armed and Female by Paxton Quigley would be appropriate advice. Kate was abducted and stuff in the trunk. When BG opened the trunk he was greeted with a .38 she pulled from her purse.

"She had planned to shoot every bullet in her gun at the man when he opened the trunk, but after three shots he slumped in to the trunk on top of her, dead." page 3. Now that's an appropriate ending to a bad situation. I've given out 5 copies of this book to family members.
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary.
