I really don't know who would carry an unchambered firearm that is to be used for defensive purposes.

Most of the time if you are having to draw your pistol, you are reacting to a theart and have already losted the initiative. Are you going to give up even more time (that you don't have) be having to chamber a round?

Carrying a gun without a round in the chamber is like trying to put your seat belt on before the accident.

Chambered always. Would you try and put a parachute on after you jump out of the plane?

There's no reason not to have a round in the chamber.

I always carry chambered. It won't be easy to rack a slide under duress, especially when what I carry is a little LCP.

I beleive to NOT carry one in the chamber is the natural first instinct for many as they start their individual journey down the concealed carry path. However, for most if not all, it does not take long for them to realize the importance of carrying one in the pipe. Once comfort level sets in and you realize that the gun is not going to accidentially going to go off in your holster they make the change in carry condition. Once you make the change you then wonder why you didn't carry that way from the start.
To all you current and former military ... thank you for your service! Let no one forget that the sacrifices you have made allow us the freedoms we enjoy.
