Using the security cable inside the car trunk.![]()
That is what I was talking about. You prefer securing it in the trunk?
I use a small lock box cabled to the seat
I got a lockbox, can't remember the brand. Just installed it this weekend actually. A quarter-turn of the key releases the lockbox form the base that's mounted to the floorboard, and another quarter-turn opens it.

"I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world."
I try to plan ahead so that I don't have to leave my gun in the car. I really don't like doing that. Even with it locked up, it's a good idea to take the slide or cylinder with you.
It may seem paranoid, but I've heard way too many stories about guns being stolen out of cars, and I really don't want my guns used by BGs.

I have actually had a gun stolen out of a vehicle, and it sucks! I have a locking center console now, as well as a high dollar aftermarket alarm. I know this does not guarantee anything, but it helps. I also clear the chamber, and take the clip and ammo with me.

You may want to check out the Nano Vault on the same website.
A bit smaller and you are able to cable it to your car seat track so you can store it under your seat.
Easy to reach down and grab it from between your legs and hold it in your lap while you unholster and place the gun inside. Lock it up and slide it back under the front seat.

"The gun is the great equalizer... For it is the gun, that allows the meek to repel the monsters; Whom are bigger, stronger and without conscience, prey on those who without one, would surely perish."
I actually have one of those (or one similar). Still prefer the trunk. Harder to open than the car itself and definitively more concealed. My car has a key lock on the trunk release, which I keep in the lock position. You cannot open the trunk with the trunk release without the key. The microvault replaced the nano. Sturdier and slightly larger.
I'm still working on my setup as well but I cannot lock my trunk release that is in the car. I've been debating on which way to go because of this issue. Are they going to notice the trunk release? Look for it because they know it might be there? I don't use the trunk release most of the time while out in the general public. I use the key so it makes it seem there is not one.

try this the same cable lock you use to lock it open.. wrap it around the front seat anchor spot and in the trigger guard.. also remove the mag.put it someplace else in your car/truck.. a semi-auto with out the mag is not much use..
