I say whatever makes you feel good, do it. If taking the trip through Wally world makes you feel good, do it.

I figured thats where you've got the biggest group of nuts in one place. If your good to go in WM your ready to face the world.
Why? Because it is tradition, a rite of passage for those who carry. Not only for all of the reasons stated above, but to reinforce that there will be lots of people who will make you mad and annoyed, but you CAN'T shoot them. :)

Wally World is one of the most dangerous of our everyday go-to places. It will teach you the importance of situational awareness and the responsibility that goes with carrying.

I think the parking lot is not such a good place to walk, depending on what part of town it is in. I drive a decorated like a Christmas tree Security Jeep, I kind of look out of place in some parts of Orlando.
When my destination becomes apparent (The Jeep) interest wanes.
Plus I smile all the time (I think some people think I am not playing with a full deck) not so sure myself. I made it to 74, why would I not smile?
I used to carry concealed except when going out to eat (restaurant CC was not legal and still is not until July in VA). In the last year or so I have started OC'ing more. It is much easier than arming when headed to work and removing when I get there, and the reverse when going home.
BTW, I have been carrying since 1996 and am definitely not an amateur.

I love the WWW because of all the great comments above.
My wife is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her holster....I've printed the map and she's ready for admission to the club.
My favorite response was "TRADITION "
I have since moderated my stance, I found that checking out through the "garden shop" line is much faster.
