Out of state FL permit...quiccccccck turn around!

    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to pass this along to anyone wondering how long FL out-of-state permit was taking currently.

I took my CCW class April 7th and then mailed it out on the April 10th.

Came home today for lunch and guess what was in the mail! My permit!!!

I had my PA out-of-state CCW permit but really wanted the FL one and feared it wouldn't get here before the summer, I have a few summer trips planned so I was super pumped when it came in.

So less then 30 days!!! I am very impressed! Thanks everyone for the help and guidance and also knowledge!

    Take it easy,

    -Chris

I'm sure you can just google "Florida non-res CC permit" and get all the info and forms you need. When my non-res New Hampshire expires I'm going with Florida next time because it's good for more years and also NH has gone up on their fees since I got mine.

Because of the increase in CCW applicaions in Florida the state hired many new employees to process applications. The turn around time for my wife's renewal was less than a month.

Congrats on the new permit! FL has gotten a LOT better...it used to take 3 months or longer.

Thanks everybody. I had my PA permit for the last 6 months but wanted the FL permit but never got around to it since I needed to take a safety class/CCW class.

I live in southern Illinois and took the class with about 40 other guys taught by Paul Horvick. Who was a great instructor. Very knowledgeable.

that's his website. I'm sure if you get in touch with a range/gun shop near you they will know someone teaching a Utah or FL out of state class. gmark put up the link to the FL license, which is a great resource.

As far as my process. I took the class (3.5 hrs) did the shooting drill (shot 3 shots down range then made the gun safe that was it.) He gave us a certificate with his NRA instructor number on it and our name (which was what FL required) then made copy of my drivers license, took a head shot, printed it, $117 dollar check, copied it all and sent it priority mail to FL. Then had the permit in 3ish weeks.

    re

in florida now if you have all your paperwork and go the dept of agriculture regional offices and get scanned and fill out a couple of forms and lay down $117.00 bucks you'll have your permit in about 9-10 days with no problem - they have it down to a science - heard you right through like steer
