    Naked

I'm having to travel right now, and since I have no place I can safely store my weapon (no firearms allowed on job site, even in vehicle), I am unarmed.

How do you cope with feeling so naked?

    I dunno.

I don't go anywhere I can't have a gun in my vehicle, and seldom go where I can't carry on me (post office, federal/state buildings and such are the exception, and only when I have to).

Once, many years ago, I forgot my carry gun at home. It wasn't too bad, because I had a rifle behind the seat, but I still went back home to get my handgun.

I guess you do what you have to do to comply with silly rules and laws. I'd do the same in your shoes, since I'm a law abiding person, but I wouldn't like it any better than you do.

Sorry I can't help much. *shrug*

I carry a can of spray, and a Spyderco Endura. My situational awareness is off the charts, and I look forward to being back reunited with my tool.

You still have your best weapon, which is your mind. Keep the situational awareness sharp. Avoidance is your best friend.

I have to put up with that feeling every day that I'm at school...just suck it up and move on...

I’m retired military and I can’t take my gun on the base, the VA clinic, etc. As others have suggested, take along a quality OC device. The knife thing’ is not something I would personally rely on. However, I am planning to purchase a taser.

I have my knife, and the area is well guarded. SA is nonstop.

It's just weird not strapping it on in the mornings and tucking it in at night.

It's a good opportunity to realize a gun isn't your only option!
    ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!

I travel around the world, most places I can legally carry due to my work, but have to come back to my home in the US, which is a "won't issue unless you're a criminal thug friend of the crooked sheriff" county in Iowa.

Now THAT is feeling naked. And bitter.

Can't wait for January, when at least I'll be on even terms with the thugs, er, I mean Sheriff's buddies....

A gun is only a tool for defense and there are other tools available. Knives, batons, and unarmed training go a long way toward making you feel more clothed and less naked.
As stated the mind is the ultimate weapon.
"A first rate man with a third rate gun is far better than the other way around". The gun is a tool, you are the craftsman that makes it work. There are those who say "if I had to do it, I could" yet they never go out and train to do it. Don't let stupid be your mindset. Harryball 2013
