PA gun laws for dummies-HELP Please
I know I can look at Handgun.us but I am hoping a native can lay out a crash course in simple language for me. Without getting into everything my 21 yo son is in ICU in a PA hospital and I am just waiting for my husband to get here to drive up there (I am in NC). I do not have the brain capacity right now to read legalese. Specifically- hospital carry, do I have to inform LEO, unusual prohibitions, signage requirements. If hospital carry is not outright prohibited if anyone knows specifically if St Vincent's in Erie is posted. Thanks for any help I will check back before we head out.

If you are carrying concealed and the hospital is not posted then you should be just fine going right in without any fuss or extra bother.
I've not had any problems at all in the Pittsburgh, PA. hospitals.
I can't imagine why Erie would be any different.
If you feel like you're going to be totally uncomfortable entering a hospital/ICU with your firearm then just discreetly lock it in your vehicle trunk.
BTW: Violent crime stats (murder, rape, robbery, etc.) in Erie are extremely low.
Non violent property type crimes are higher. So it's a pretty safe place.

so sorry...and good luck to your son.
looks like the only place you can't carry is in courts, schools, and Casinos so you should be good. Unless of course they group the hospital under "a licensed facility", but the statute itself talks about slot machines. I don't think they'll have one of those in a hospital. LOL
