Why I love Missouri CC laws.......

One of the things I like about Missouri is that their CC laws are very generous, IMO. The statutes list a whole bunch of places you are "not allowed" to CC in, even with a CCW, but then after this list they make it clear that CC'ing in ALL those places is NOT a crime. The ballpark, casino, or other place of business can only ask you to leave the premises if they know you are armed. I love this caveat. I CC'd the zoo, Busch Stadium (two games), casino for breakfast and had no issues at all. I never wore more than a t-shirt and jeans, which is only possible because of my slim little Kel-Tec PF9. The ballpark was really the only place I was hesitant to CC at, but it's also the place I wanted to CC at the most because of the long walk back to our car in downtown STL at 10:30 at night. I know my wife liked the better sense of security as we walked past the local downtown riff-raff.

Yep, after reviewing a lot of other States ccw laws, I've concluded that Missouri has one of the better ccw statutes around.

Now if we can get the length of permit extended from 3 to 5 years to match the length of your drivers license, an option for a lifetime permit like Indiana, and Castle Doctrine expanded to apply "everywhere you have a legal right to be," the law would be perfect!

CCW on college campus and allowing teachers and employees in primary schools would be a plus as well.

It would be nice if we could get the same cc laws for every State to match! Like Alaska or Vermont, not like California or Illinois!

    Yes, we have it good.

Good that you read the sentence after the list. I've seen an official pamphlet that listed all the no-carry places, yet left off the following sentence. The important sentence.

Two thumbs up for the Missouri Legislature.

Got it good but our officials seem to be sitting on there collective butts lately as nothing is moving. But at least we do have a good CC law.

We also now have 101,935 Missourians with ccw permits.

Last summer we only had 58,000+.

Wow, thanks for that statistic... I've been meaning to ask our Sheriff how many in my county but I keep forgetting.

Wish I could carry in the bank, the hospital, my alma mater, and at my jobs. I go to Illinois often since I am near the border too so I wish I could carry there too. Inside this state though it's nice, although, I haven't the courage to carry on that train to the stadium, inside, and back.

Soon the minimum age should be lowered from 23 to 21

Yep... that's it! They can ONLY ask you to leave. It's not a criminal offense. You'll get a ticket if you don't. Missouri

You're right, I've seen several pamphlets that try to scare you from carrying at certain places by omitting the last section. That only works for people who don't research the law themselves!
