    Florida Permit

I know this has been covered before but bear with me.

I just got my Florida Permit today almost 30 days to the date. My brother got his today as well about 35 days to the date.

I live in Texas he's in Maryland.

My point is that now may be a good time to apply.

My FL license took over 4 months early last year.

    I had a FL - CCL

    I live in MO. I had a FL-CCL before I got my MO-CCL.
BE careful traveling. Some states such as KS honor the FL-CCL.
But they have a claus which states if you are a non-resident of the state that you are licensed they do not honor the CCL. So I was good here at home in MO. If I traveled to KS I could'nt carry. So I got me a MO-CCL this time.

    Happy packing Bro...

Anytime is a great time to get your permit. There may be more surges in the process that will cause longer timeframes, but that just means that many more people are getting their permits...that's a good thing.
Even when it was taking 2-3 months by mail, one could go to a regional office and get a permit in person with just a week or two 'mail' wait.

I heard they had beefed up their staff because of the high demand. Looks like its working. Mine took close to 3 months .

Even though I am covered under LEOSA I got myself a Non-Resident Florida license and bypassed getting a resident Pennsylvania license. Always have to have a backup plan.
One more step and it's on!

according to Florida's reciprocity list, there are only 4 states where non-resident FL permits are not honored (New Hampshire, Michigan,Colorado, and South Carolina) The ones with footnote (4).
Concealed Carry Reciprocity - Division of Licensing, FDACS

also, if you look at Kansas' CCW page, it has some updated stuff which includes CCW rules updates.http://www.ksag.org/page/concealed-carry
