Kroger now banning CCW !UPDATE SEE POST 113!

To preface this, I am very active with Ohioans for Concealed Carry. Ohio's PAC and lobby on CCW and all gun rights. That said please read this post if you shop at Kroger or just care about CCW rights.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Policy change has Kroger banning Licensed Concealed Carry. In a abrupt about face Kroger has decided to ban licensed carry at their stores per a email to one of Ohioans for Concealed Carry's coordinators.

Thank you for contacting Kroger. The concealed weapons policy was updated and as of 4/28/10 our policy reads:
"Concealed Weapons - even if you have License to carry still can't carry."
I understand your frustrations and I will be forwarding your concerns to our Division office for review. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me back. Thank you for taking the time to e-mail us.

    Sincerely,

    Nicole Belcamino

This Ohioans for Concealed Carry contact was prompted by a ousting of a licensee at a Kroger's for printing. Printing isn't illegal in Ohio.

Here is a link to the letter that Kroger sent the man ejected from the store after he complained about his treatment.

Here is the link to the OFCC thread on the whole incident up untill now.

Please everyone that shops at Kroger contact them and let them know you will take your business elsewhere should they follow this new policy.

If we flood them like we did back in 2004 with emails they will relent again.

Please Cross post this on any of your favorite gun forums with my thanks!

Harris Teeter tried it last week here. Grass Roots got involved and they reconsidered.

Seems like we keep fighting the same battles over and over.

All help is appreciated. We are having an effect as the email client they use is being reported to be slower and slower. Keep up the fight fellas!

I've recently been informed that you no longer allow lawfully permitted customers with concealed weapons in your stores?

Your policy is essentially telling criminals that no Kroger shoppers are armed and it's essentially inviting and allowing them to escalate their criminal intentions in an environment that is attractive to them.

I'm a responsible citizen and I don't care to become a statistic while shopping at Krogers. My life and the lives of my family are more important to me than shopping at your stores.

We can easily shop elsewhere, and will do so, for as long as your policy offers up a Kroger customer base that is defenseless and at the mercy of criminals.
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

This has to be a nightmare for Kroger getting it from all over the country. What they need to understand is that gun/self defense community is very tight. Any infringement is a affront to the whole. Kroger wants to be a national company then they need to follow national will. The absolute tsunami of CC laws passed and the same huge wave of licensees growing should tell them this but there is always some anti that wants to stop citizens from defending themselves.

    Great job guys!

I have a feeling this is a regional problem. I both CC and OC in Krogers here in VA with no problems. In fact I OC'd in one this morning. Will be interesting to so see if it is a corporate policy change.

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.

I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.
