    Florida permit reciprocity?

I was told by the DOA that they no longer print the permit holders address on the license. My question is if this is the case then how will other states know if your FL permit is a resident or non resident permit, and to honor it or not?

I'm wondering this as we know some states only honor a CCW if the holder is a resident of said state. So that being said can anyone clear this up?

Generally you will have to produce your DL when you have to produce your CCW permit. Should be pretty obvious at that point.

Well maybe they misunderstood my question or the woman I spoke with at DOA was mistaken. Thanks guys for the input on this.

I think the change started in February. I got mine in late December/ early January. with name and address on it. A friend got his in February and did not

LEOs will look at your DL to determine residency.

No idea why this was done

Current Florida Concealed Weapons and Firearms Licenses do not display your address, however Florida Law requires that you posses another ID to substantiate the FCWF license.

Hadn't heard that change, but the simple answer would be print "Resident" or "Non-resident" on the permit.

As for presenting another ID, I could always present my Mil. ID, which has no address either.

How about a U.S. Passport showing that you are a citizen and one of "We the People" - the Florida statutes state at the end that the statutes regarding concealed carry and firearms in general are not meant to circumvent the constitutional rights of citizens.

    Hmmm?

It could be that FL has stopped putting addresses so that when folks move the permit doesn't have to be updated with the new address. And as others have pointed out, you have to produce a drivers license which would establish your residency status. It took months to get my actual permit and this may be a way to ease the workload.
