CC'ing in the Indy Zoo

In Indiana, the zoo is not a posted or firearms free zone. anyone with an LTCH can carry there. I had my XDM in an uncle mikes cloth IWB, hidden under a polo and a jacket tied around my waist, noone panicked, noone called the police. noone started evacuating. it was just me, my two friends, the public, and the animals. We even went to see the dolphins do their little show and noone noticed in the tight quarters we had there. Gotta love concealment in situations like this. The only person who looked at me kind of funny like he knew was a police officer wearing a 5.11 vest with his badge visible on his neck, and all he did was smile and nod while looking right at where i had my CCW

Most LEO's get very good a picking out weapons on a person, it's a good thing that helps you get home when the shift is over! Glad you had a good day at the zoo!:wave:

IC 35-47-9-2
Possession of firearms on school property, at school function, or on school bus; felony
Sec. 2. A person who possesses a firearm:
(1) in or on school property;
(2) in or on property that is being used by a school for a school function; or
(3) on a school bus;
commits a Class D felony.

Kind of a grey area I think. I see how some might read into it that way. But I don't think that most LEOs would.

Kahrcarrier, I am looking for a nicer IWB than my uncle mikes, just because its a cloth one and cannot be reholstered with one hand because it does not retain its shape. However, it is very comfortable. And that school thing is a grey area. From what several LEO's have told me, it is only enforced when the venue being used for a school function is being used just for that school function and not open to the public. IE if a church was being used for a school mass, by that school's priest, it would be illegial to carry there, but not a place that is still open to the public

Some one please correct me if I'm wrong [I hope I am]. Aren't firearms banned in the Indianapolis city parks and isn't the zoo part of the city park system?
