Have you ever had to use your weapon?

    Nope no story from me.

Not really trolling I don't think. Just curious as to the odds I suppose, if anybody has and if they'd share their story or not.

I'm one of the lucky ones.

I speculate, for a regular civilian, the odds are going to be pretty miniscule, considering even some cops go through their careers without a single draw (which I find to be remarkable, and speaks highly to their professionalism).

I did and if you want to read about it, you will find it in my intro post to this forum.

I've had my permit since 95 when Texas first issued them, only had to pull it once when guy came at me with a bat,he decided he'd rather be somewhere else so drawing was enough, thank goodness.

No, but does having to stare down the wrong end of a weapon count? Maybe since I was going to stomp butt of the guy who pulled the gun after he attacked me.

    Let me clarify that:
He attacked me and then pulled a gun when I went to retaliate.

Most people who have done so don't talk about it or wear it like a badge.

I would suspect that the odds vary considerably depending on location. demographics and lifestyle.

back in new york i was having drinks @ barcode in times square. 3 of my friends were sitting at a table when a guy looked under our table asking if we saw his bag. we looked and found nothing. he started being combative and asking us to give him back his bag. he came up to me like he wanted to fight so i gave a manny pacquiao combo! didn't have a gun back then. my man hit the floor and thank god as soon as he got up 2 big bouncers had us both in a bear hug! saved my butt.....LOL. now here in texas i just don't go to bars anymore. and thank god i never had to draw my weapon.......

Do you refer to LEOs that only do administrative jobs or to those that work on the streets every day? Should a LEO that needs to draw his firearm be less professional for that?
