IMO, if she won't stand up to him and tell him to stay out of her private life, you might need a new fiancee'.

PS It's not really any of the daughter's business, either

That's my thought - especially the first highlighted sentence.

If your legal to carry, then carry. Life is too short to try and please Tom, Dick and Harry. Regardless of what you do, someone isn't going to be happy.

he could just be a cautious dad that is concerned about the new guy that will be spending time with his daughter on occasion. somone that he doesnt know, that carries a gun, i might be a little apprehensive myself in that situation.

    The daughter's 27!

You're apprehensive about a licensed firearms carrier?

I would carry, stay away from the EX, and NOT drink alcohol. You did not do anything wrong.

Yep she's 27 and married, her husband in an MP in the Navy and doesnt mind that I carry.

I really don't think any violence will break out. I guess my main concern was being under the spot light because just about everyone there will know I CC.
Ironically the Birthday party is for her Ex's Mother, who has a very close relationship with my fiance, treats her like her own daughter. She found out about this and thinks it's no big deal I CC. She was also the host of the BBQ where I supposedly got made.

The only person that you might give a little consideration to about carrying is your date, and on a stretch out of courtesy, the host of the party you are attending. To everyone else...Let the grass-eaters be skittish. You carry for you and yours, not at the whim of others.

I'm with him. Was probably your fiance or your daughter that told him. Don't worry about what he thinks of CC. Go ahead and do as you please, which is carrying to protect you, your fiance, her daughter, and anyone else.

    UPDATE:
The Birthday party went fine. I wore jeans and a nice dress shirt, untucked, with my G27 in my Crossbreed Supertuck at about 8:30 (I'm a lefty). Had my fiance check before we went and I wasn't printing at all.
Me and the Ex shook hands as soon as we walked in, and the first thing he ate was the Spinach Dip that I made.
We had a good time.. the only problem was I ate too much
