    Carry in Church

Well i got to carry in Church today. Yes i have permission from the Pastor and he said that it would make him fell much better if he knew someone there had a firearm "just in case". It went well and of course only he and I know. :danceban Do any of you carry in Church? If so what do you carry? I myself carry a Beretta PX4sc.

A moot question to me. I don't attend church except by exception. But I have no problem with those would would carry in church.

Why you would ask permission from the pastor? Why say anything to anyone about it? Just curious? I've carried at church, but find it a bit difficult because our church has so many huggers. I might do better with something smaller than my current CC.

That's a legit question. In some states, permission from someone on the governing body of the church is required to legally carry there.

Too bad I can't. Otherwise, it's considered illegal concealed carry and can get me revoked if caught. And the word, due reason, is open to interpretation. This is one of the flaws of the gun laws in VA and hopefully this can be the next issue for CCW reform. Until then, I only go once a month and I have to store my carry pistol lock in my car and have only my knife, tactical light, and OC.

Search the threads and you will find several about church carry. You'll also find a pretty good group of clergy on the forum; church carry is more common than you might think in some places. I would guess that, on average, we have 4 or 5 armed men and women in our congregation on any given Sunday (out of perhaps 130-150 adults in attendance). Those are the ones I know about.

For me? Yeah, I carry in church every Sunday. Kimber Pro CDP II is my EDC, so it's usually strong side with a defensive folding knife weak side. I will occasionally carry my Springfield XD9sc as an alternate. I am a hugger, so the key is to make sure that your strong-side arm stays low so that you protect your weapon.

Honestly I am not overly concerned about being made, but that's probably because I am the pastor...and everyone knows I am a 2A nut.

Just got home from Sunday night service and my Taurus 85 ultralite is still in my pocket. My pastor also has a cc permit and has told me while he doesn't carry Sunday morning, he does at Sunday and Wednesday night service. Baptist by the way.

Yes, I carry at mass. Huggers have felt it before but no one has asked.

I always carry in church, and I would guess that many others do it too.

I usually know which people the huggers are. I'll initiate the hug keeping my arm on the carry side low so they have to go high on that side. Never had an issue yet.

In MO you have to have permission from the Pastor to carry in Church. I am the only one with permission to carry in the Congregation.

Sjones: your right, these days you never know. i would rather have it and not need it, better than needing it and not having it.

I always have my benchmade knife with me everywhere i go except for work. I work around aircraft and can not have any "personal tools" with me.

Its good to know that there are so many Church going people on here.
