I think that's more a result of the MJ and rum than lack of guns. It's always had a violent history.

"Everyone wants to keep guns away from criminals, but the question is: who is most likely to obey the law?"

Right! This needs to be said again and again in print, on TV and on the radio until every American has been made to confront this question.

According to reports I'm seeing EVERY day, you're going to see this lesson brought home a LOT closer than Jamaica.

It seems like the gangs in Chicago have watched the movie "The Warriors" and taken the head gang leader's exhortations to heart. They're targeting the police and concentrating in areas where police presence is minimal. I saw a figure of ***1,000*** gang members at the beaches roving at will. They're also roaming downtown, beating and robbing the sheep. The police were impotent to deal with the situation.

Let's see how that gun ban works for Daley this summer....

Boycott Arizona? Nonsense! I'm boycotting IL, NY, and DC!

    And Jamaica.

Americans need not look no further...
    ...since enacting a handgun bans...
Ok, I agree fully with Dr. Lott's assessment. However, for a guy who has published so much, he really needs a proofreader!
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I agree whole heartedly. And I must admit I am afraid for my children and our country.

We were just discussing this in my office, several of us carry, and we all agreed that it is just a matter of time (short time) before this drug violence spills over the boarders on a large scale like Mexico and now Jamaica.

Well, it's getting a lot easier to plan my vacations! Just stay away from anywhere that good guys can not be armed.

If the government can't control the borders the states should be able to deal with it any way they can.

It's certainly made Chicago safer for armed robbers.
