How important is it to have a criminal defense atty to start. Couldn't you just call your regular atty (one that practices family law or business law) and then arrange for a defense lawyer?

    x2 and she CCWs too.

Sheriff/CCW instructor told that if I shoot someone and it was not at my home I will most likely go to jail for a few hours until everything is sorted out but just stick to the story of "I feared for my life/family members life".

Just my $0.02 if it's worth that much.
And, it's not that hard to figure out who to call. Here in Jacksonville, the guy that represents the police is the same guy that represents the multi-millionaire athletes.

I am also a member of the Armed Citizen's Legal Defense Network. No matter who ends up as my attorney I want Mas Ayoob and Marty Hayes in my corner from the beginning.
