Was headed to an outdoor festival last night. Was in a conversation with a friend who is aware I have my CCL. He does not have a CCL and does not carry. In conversation I mentioned that I was going to the festival and he stated that he did not htink it would be a good idea that I carried to such a gathering. NOte I did not say anything to him whether I was going to carry or not nor would I. I blew off the comment and went on talking about something else. So my point is for me to carry is a private choice and when and where I carry does not need to be discussed with others. The question I have for you is when there is a festival or gathering in your local area and if you go to it do you always carry knowing you are going to be in a crowd of people? If so any suggetions...V
Best bet is to check your state laws, they do differ and your State may prohibit carry at certain "public gatherings/events".

The only thing that dictates whether I carry or not is the law. If it is lawful to carry there then I carry.

If it is legal to carry I am carrying.

I always want to remain legal, and if it's legal...I carry!

I don't let friends dictate where I will or will not carry...IF they know I carry.
The laws of your state should be your guide.

Do you only wear your seat belt part of the time?
In crowds, depending on your carry method, keep an arm over the weapon so others do not bump it.
I carry whenever legal, if it isnt legal to carry somewhere, I do NOT go there unless there is no other choice. Just my personal choice though.

Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
Festivals and such mean crowds of people. BG's, being opportunists, look at it as a lot of potential victims in one place, especially dark edges of parking lots and people not as aware as you and me, some possibly under influence of alcohol, etc.
I carry everywhere legal and occasionally, but seldom, places where it might not be legal. To each his own is my philosophy regarding this issue. I'd rather have myself and loved ones alive and be in trouble with the law for using a gun defending against a BG in a "gun free" zone than the alternative... Of course, extreme prudence in drawing my weapon would be exercised. Goes without saying for anyone with training and the proper mindset.
