My impression regarding the Chicago folks waking up.....

Mayor Daley could care less! Chicago is HIS city, not the citizens!

Thanks. I'll read that shortly. Looks interesting, reading the first paragraph. I also just recently ordered his book, In the Gravest Extreme: The Role of the Firearm in Personal Protection, based on recommendations here. Ordered from Amazon.com and should be here Thursday of this week.

Very interesting read, considering it actually takes into account first hand statements from the neighbors and family of the man and they are in support of firearms instead of against them, thus taking the emotion aspect, and including the numbers as well for the membership of the corresponding and opposing organizations.

Sadly, it takes incidents such as this to illustrate to the public why onerous gun control measures that disarm law-abiding citizens but not criminals are simply wrong. People are beginning to increasingly understand this. Combined with this week's report that overall violent crime is down while gun ownership is soaring in this country, which I wrote about here, it is no wonder that organizations like the Brady Campaign and Washington CeaseFire have lost momentum and credibility. CeaseFire can boast only 6,000 members while NRA membership in the Evergreen State is above 90,000. Does that tell you anything?

At least someone gets it and hopefully people will read this story and open their eyes. It is sad that he had to go through that but it would have been much worse had he not had a gun, hopefully people will realize that guns can be used for good. I'm glad to see an article like this actually ran, most of the time we only see the media showing stories with the BGs with guns or they try to make the good out to be the bad guy; good job all around.
