When you leave your house each day, are you always adding the extra round (+1) on top of a full magazine or do you find yourself just going with the full mag and another spare mag?
Each day when I come home I fully unload and store my CC firearm in the safe. (I have small kids) My home defense firearm is fully loaded in a small quick release safe should I need it.
Each morning when I take out my CC firearm and load it I most often find myself just loading in one magazine, chambering a round, and taking an extra mag with me.
I guess it's just laziness on my part but I was wondering what the consensus here does and what the general feelings are regarding not carrying that one extra round.
I unload when I clean it. When finished I insert magazine, relaese slide.
Remove magazine, insert one round to top off. Reinsert magazine.
Only unload it when I clean it again.
Always +1 and I never take it off my hip or out of my pocket until I go to bed.
The plcae you feel the safest is at home..... Which means that's where you're most vulnerable unfortunately. :-/
When I do reload, after cleaning, etc. Chamber load the first round, release the slide and load a full mag. It eliminates the in and out, load another round, mag process.
It depends on the gun for me. I carried an M&P 40 for a while and when I did I went the lazy mans way and just had 15 and no plus one. I have started carrying a Kahr CW9 and since the capacity is so much less I do take the time to go +1.
With all of that said, I still carry a revolver on most days anyhow because it's even easier.
I American and I Ameriwill!
Always +1. I only unload it to replace with range ammo for practice. But when it comes off at night...it goes into a quick safe and stays +1. I too have a little one running around.
Full mag. +1 in the chamber when I leave the house.

I CLING to my guns and my Bible.
Lately, I've been just going with what I have in the mag. I feel like 13 is enough +13 more in the spare.
I will concede that, that may change when I'm carrying a single stack.
Trust in God and keep your powder dry
