    Thumbs up First Traffic Stop

Tonight was my first time to be stopped by the NC Highway Patrol while carrying. The troopers had set up on a highway to the south of Smithfield doing random license checks (looked to me like everybody was being checked). Per the law, I turned on the interior light, rolled the window halfway down, put both hands on the wheel and, as the Trooper approached, informed him I had a Concealed Weapons License (out of FL), that I was presently armed, and the location of the firearm.

Didn't faze him a bit. He just thanked me, asked for my Driver's License and CCW License (which I already had in my left hand), and commented that he liked that the Florida License had a picture (unlike the NC permit). He handed my licenses back, thanked me, and told me to drive safely. End of stop.

The Trooper couldn't have been nicer. Wish some of the local Police could take lessons from him...

I just had to delete 24 posts. The OP has said nothing about the RAS of the stop. Maybe he forgot, maybe he feels its none of our business or maybe it has nothing to do with the story he wanted to share. It certainly does not have to do with tin foil hats and wild imaginations so put those away and stop hijacking others threads.
