Moving out of state...maybe.
1. I live in AZ.
2. I have a ccw issued about the end of last Dec.
3. AZ issues non resident permits
4. TX & LA are reciprocal with AZ permits
OK, so here's the deal. I MAY be moving to either TX or LA depending on a couple of other companies making me a better deal than I have in AZ.
Given the 4 statements above, would I have to do anything to carry or would my "resident ccw" become a "non resident ccw" being honored by TX &/ LA?
I don't think either state has open carry, but is one state any tougher than (or strange laws) the other?

Obviously you'd need to inform Arizona of your new address, so that they can send you a new CHL card with the updated address.

I would think that if you are re-locating to another state with a permanent address there, that you would have to get that state's CWP while your AZ CWP would become your non-resident.

A lot is going to depend on AZ law. If you are no longer a resident of AZ is your permit still valid? Some states, once you are no longer a resident, any permits/licenses issued by them are void.
You also need to check with the state you move to, to see if they allow their residents to carry on an out of state non-resident permit.

Something to consider for LA - There is a bill currently in the LA senate that would invalidate out-of-state CHL's for LA residents. If you visit while still an AZ resident, your permit is valid here, but the moment you become a LA resident, it becomes invalid. I don't know if it'll pass or not, but something to consider.
There are also some laws in LA that will make you
No restaurant carry, announcing before entering a private residence, no church carry, no parade carry, and a few others.
"A well-educated electorate, being necessary to the continuance of a free state, the right of the people to keep and read books shall not be infringed."
Is this hard to understand? Then why does it get unintelligible to some people when 5 little words are changed?

Arizona Reciprocity
IMHO , when you get a drivers license , job , and have a permanent address in your new state you really should apply for CCW there.

Gee...that doesn't leave you a lot of real estate you can carry on! I'll check with the local gun shops or firing range when I'm there tomorrow.
Was just hopeing to not have to sit through all the classes again.

I can't say I've heard of that one. But I don't spend much time scouting out new eateries, so I'm far from an authority on the topic.
