sooo happy. Dont understand the title of the post though?? Are you saying no more racist gatherings because they whites can now control the blacks in the crowd with the proper response? Because that I agree with.

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.
I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.

Gun laws plain and simple are to be used to hook black men caught with weapons...if you read GA case law the case always concern a"colored" or a "negro" the Public Gathering clause was added to allow police to hook any person who wasnt white caught with a weapon because the law had off limits places but was said includes them but is not limited to...so what exactly does that mean? the only place never up held to be a public gathering in GA was McDonalds so anywhere else carrying a gun in GA you were taking a chance of being arrested. The repeal of this law is a huge step for freedom of all men and women regardless of skin colorsooo happy. Dont understand the title of the post though?? I think the race card has played itself out. Not as many people wince when they hear the word racists anymore. The word has been so abused that it doesn't have the impact it was meant for.
Very glad 308 passed. 291 wasn't as big of deal to me, but I still would've liked to see it passed.
Anyone know when it goes into effect?
291 is a very big deal....it contained a "Katrina Law" to prevent the seizing of guns during emergency like they did in New Orleans....GA iirc is the only state in the south that hasnt passed this law

The governor's veto message for HB291:
SB 291 changes a variety of provisions within Georgia law regarding firearms. Among others, this bill would allow firearms to be carried into unsecure areas of airports. I have already signed SB 308, which clarifies Georgia’s public gathering statute and preserves the rights of private property owners. I believe this language is sufficient and adequately clarifies the law for Georgia firearms license holders. For this reason, and despite unwarranted intrusion into this state matter by ill-advised federal officials, I VETO SB 291.
oh the new law has been in affect since thursday night or friday morning...they only just announced the change yesterday
and yes the law contained the airport carry but the reason is was vetoed sonny had a problem with losing his emergency power to seize weapons
