New Georgia law!

Today the Governor signed SB308 into law. In a nutshell, this improves our situation greatly as it removes some vague wording and allows a lot more convenience.

No more 1000' safety zone around schools

You can have a gun in the parking lot of prohibited areas (courthouse, airport, schools, etc)

No more vague "public gathering" rule

And lots of other clarifications that are almost all in favor of license and gun owners. The only downside is that the price of the license is going from $15 to $30.

But that's minor compared to the improvements!

Man $30.00 is a great price, it $50 in SC.

Yeah, but then you have to do fingerprinting and a background check at the cost of $50 in Gwinnett (where I live.) So now it's going to be $80 instead of the current $65 for my county.

$ 30 ? Try about $150 for license here, + $150 on classes, $15 fingerprints + $20 passport pictures (unless you know someone who can print them) = $335

A new law is lowering the costs... whew... about 1/2 of that in the future. Renewals are now $25 ( also a new change).
