Yeah, but then you have to do fingerprinting and a background check at the cost of $50 in Gwinnett (where I live.) So now it's going to be $80 instead of the current $65 for my county.

TX recently bumped from $120 to $140, be happy with your $30, still dirt cheap.
Asked by a CNN reporter "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist"?, the Marine sniper simply shrugged & replied "recoil".
Now more than ever, we are at war on our home soil ...
WAKE UP & arm our troops when they are on home soil!

Positive changes.... good deal
$ 30 ? Try about $150 for license here, + $150 on classes, $15 fingerprints + $20 passport pictures (unless you know someone who can print them) = $335
A new law is lowering the costs... whew... about 1/2 of that in the future. Renewals are now $25 ( also a new change).
