Kings dominion - Six flags DC-MD-VA

Anyone from the DC,MD,VA area? I'm making plans to take the family to kings dominion or six flags and wanted to know if there was a "no gun policy" at these parks.

As I understand it, No firearms inside the park but it is ok to leave them in the car.

    Park Rules

    4. Weapons of any kind. For everyone’s safety, guests entering Kings Dominion will be asked to pass through a metal detection system. You may also be asked to open purses, backpacks, and other bags. Failure to comply with this request will result in denial of Park admission.
Sorry, no weapons of any kind. They'd prefer to let law-abiding citizens remain disarmed and rely upon park security for their safety.

Criminals are, of course, exempt from this rule since they wouldn't obey it anyway.

The 6 flags in NJ makes you walk through a metal detector.

went to KD 2 or 3 yrs back, had to walk thru metal detectors.

i only carried a knife then, so they had me check it in and retrive it when i left at the lost and found section.

other female friends had to check in their pepper spray.

still had my flashlight on me though =D

It's been so long since I went I don't remember, but don't they serve alcohol in the park? ... I just checked and they do. I would think that would make it illegal... until July 1st to conceal carry there. You could legally OC, but they definitely won't let you in.

Kings Dominion has a no weapons policy in place. As far as Six Flags, it's in NJ. Your VA permit is not honored there. If you are LEO and covered under LEOSA you should be able to carry.

There is also a Six Flags in the 4th Reich, err, Maryland.. So no carry anyways.. They also have metal detectors so no knife either.. But for some reason, my knife never gets picked up on a metal detector anyways.. and it is nothing but metal.. hmmmmm......... Just today I had to go through two metal detectors.. My belt buckle set them off, but my knife didn't.....

You should look into Busch Gardens. I'm unsure of their weapons policy, but its alot of fun too, their in Williamsburg, just FYI.

I haven't been to Kings Dominion, or Busch Gardens since I've been carrying, unfortunately. I like them both.

I went to Animal Kingdom a few months back and had my Benchmade clipped on my pocket, the security gaurd saw it and said I had to put it in my truck or put it in one of their lockers just outside the park. They very nice about it, but it was still a bit annoying. They would not have noticed if I would have just dropped it down in my pocket, no metal detectors... Next time I will know what to do.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg will search your bags but not your person. No metal detectors. They have a no guns policy but it is not enforced if not seen.
