I used to use my military ID as an ID if I needed 2 forms, but that has expired and I'm no longer in. I could now use my Florida permit, but to be honest, my permit picture looks like a really bad mug shot. So I'd prefer not to show anybody that!

Nope, only show it to LEO's and when buying a firearm.

if 2 IDs are required yes.
if for some reason i had my HCP but not drivers license (which wouldnt happen) then I suppose I would.
Using it instead of my DL? No.

I don't see a need to flash my concealed carry permit, even for identification purposes.

Agreed, you are showing the individual that you could have a gun on you. Its always fun when the police get a call "Man with a gun"....

Short story: When the Sgt. took my picture at my local PD for my CFP he asked me if I wanted to review the picture. I said nope, very few will ever see it.

My DL is my ID and if someone wants a second one with a picture I'll go home and get my work badge.

No. Concealed is concealed. Showing your permit as a form of ID is essentially implying that you are carrying. There are certain situations, such as buying a gun or informing an leo, that I would present my permit.

Looks like the overall opinion is not don't use it for ID pourposes unless really needed to. Maintain CCW permit as a private thing. I'm good with that. Thanks to all

That depends. Personally, I would not use it unless needed. I don't know about down south and in a larger urban area where you are, but up north I wouldn't be too concerned. Between truck rack rifles and OC I doubt anyone would take any notice of your using it. It does have your Dl number on it. If necessary, use it, if not, I wouldn't.

I had to ONE time and it was actually when Santa Claus was purchasing a 12 ga. for my daughter. They required two forms of government issued IDs and that's all I had. That and my DL. I actually debated for a few seconds whether or not I was going to produce it. I went ahead and did it but didn't tell him what it was. He read it, looked at me and smiled and actually looked me up and down. I told him, "Don't even ask."

BTW, in case you guys didn't know.......Santa packs.

No, because in AZ it does not have your photo. Come to think of it, the only thing I have with a photo on me is DL. My EMT card, firefighter card, credit cards, no photos. Although I've been told were getting photo IDs at work soon, so I may have a 2nd choice but it will not be my CCW.

Here in CA my CCW doesn't have photo on it either but was accepted as another form of govt. issued ID to purchase a firearm.

No. As others said I have other picture ID's on me. Not showing my CWP unless a situation involving LEO of course.
